The situation for workers in Turkey is increasingly becoming worse with attacks from both employers and the state, see here and here. On the 1st of May, 35 workers at the Togo footwear factory were dismissed for joining a union, the Deri-Is. They have formed a permanent picket outside the factory. They have withstood constant intimidation and attacks by security forces, as well as being arrested on three separate occasions. For more information and solidarity, click here.
