Qantas pilots want a new workplace agreement that guarantees that all pilots are paid at the same rate without sub-contracting or off-shoring arrangements. Qantas wants to increase its use of pilots from regional countries as it can pay them less.
Qantas as an internationally based company is not the only one that tries to undermine workers conditions by hiring workers where unions are weaker and wages lower. No matter which countries workers come from, they should be paid at the highest possible award.
