Remembering Hiroshima and Nagasaki

On 6 August 1945, the US government devastated the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with nuclear bombs.  Both bombs killed tens of thousands of people directly, injured tens of thousands, and has caused ongoing lethal consequences for millions of people more. The union movement has a long anti- war history.  The overwhelming victims of war are women and children, but also important is that these wars aren’t ours.  Workers of different nations are pitted against each other when in reality, our interests are more aligned with each other than the governments and capitalists of our countries. The anniversaries are marked by anti-war activists all around the world to protest the military industrial sector that still profits from the ravages of war.
