According to a complaint filed with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) by the Center for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES) Mr Somyot violated Section 112 of the Criminal Code by publishing statements in his magazine that could be deemed an insult to the monarchy and a threat to national security. This is not the first time Somyot Prueksakasemsuk has been detained and it is not the first time that AAWL has had to participate in a campaign for his freedom. See the Free Our Comrades page here. More details and a petition, in Thai and English, can be found here and here. |
