Workers continue to die at the Hanjin Shipyards in the Philippines

The Hanjin’s shipyards at Subic Bay Freeport zone is the 4th biggest shipyard in the world and employs tens of thousands of workers. Hanjin is one of Korea’s biggest companies. The shipyards first started in 2006 but since that time over 30 workers have been killed and thousands injured due to the atrocious working conditions. Attempts to form a union and improve working conditions are an ongoing concern for workers. At least two more workers were killed this year.
