In encouraging news, the owner of the Rana Plaza building has been charged for the murder of over 1,100 workers. This new development has only come about because of the constant pressure and campaigning by workers and activists both in Bangladesh and internationally (see here, here and here). Given the power and influence that the garment industry has in Bangladesh, pressure needs to be maintained to be sure that the dead and injured workers receive justice.
