As reported last week, a number of activists of a group calling itself the ‘New Democracy Movement’, were arrested by the Thai military junta. Amid continuing internal and external pressure, these activists have been released on bail but are still facing the possibility of many years in jail. Supporters from around the world have sent statements of support while a letter signed by a number of international labour and human rights organisations has been sent to the Thai authorities calling on all charges to be dropped.
