Fight continues in New Zealand

As reported in a previous news item, workers in New Zealand are facing increasing attacks by the capitalists. The Talley’s/AFFCO company has locked out 1,000 meat workers in an attempt to force them to accept changes to their collective agreement. This will allow the company to impose individual contracts on workers and set the wage rates. The New Zealand Meat Workers Union are fighting this and there is an international solidarity appeal.

Meanwhile, striking Philippine Airlines workers in Manila held a rally outside of the New Zealand embassy in support of striking Port of Auckland workers.
