A fire at a garment factory in the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) of Karachi earlier this month injured at least ten workers. Given that buildings are built very close to each other and that there are few access points, fire personnel had to break through walls to get to the fire. This fire once again shows the dangers that workers routinely face when working in the garment industry and is an example of how the lessons of the Ali Enterprise fire of over two years ago, where 255 workers were killed, have not been learned.
