As reported previously, the fight by thousands of Filipino workers, employed by the national airline carrier PAL, against contracting out and casualisation has been long and hard (see click here, here and here). In November 2013, after more than two years on the picket line, the union representing the workers, PALEA, signed a historic agreement with PAL to end the dispute by rehiring the workers as permanent employees. Unfortunately, the implementation of this agreement took longer than expected, but this week, news has come that all workers might finally receive justice.
