A worker was murdered and another three were injured last week, in two separate attacks against writers and publishers in Bangladesh. These incidents are not isolated. This year alone, there have been four internet bloggers murdered orchestrated by fundamentalist forces, both within and outside the government, to stifle debate on past crimes and to create a climate of fear. This is an attack on all workers’ right to organise and participate in political life. The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has launched an international campaign calling for the killing to stop and for the government to pursue the killers.
