3CR is Melbourne’s community radio station and was established in 1976 to provide a voice for those denied access to the mass media, particularly the working class, women and Indigenous people. AAWL’s weekly radio program, Asia Pacific Currents, first went to air in the mid 1980s. We broadcast stories and issues from the Asia Pacific region from a labour and grassroots perspective. The program features regular interviews with labour and human rights activists of the Asia Pacific region, updates on solidarity campaigns and reports of labour and progressive struggles in the region. You can subscribe to the weekly podcast here.
3CR is financially independent, relying on memberships and donations for financial support. Radiothon is 3CR’s major annual fundraising effort. Contact 3CR via this link and be sure to mention APC when you make your donation.
