Thousands of anti-nuclear protesters, including workers and parents with children, marched in Japan on Saturday three months after the world’s worst nuclear disaster in 25 years. Tepco have only recently admitted that their Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant experienced full meltdowns at three reactors in the wake of an earthquake and tsunami in March.
80,000 residents have had to evacuate a huge area around the plant, food products have been contaminated and emergency workers have been exposed to dangerous amounts of radiation.As the extent of the crisis has slowly and unwillingly been revealed by the company and government many more people have been willing to participate in demonstrations against the nuclear power industry.
