The South Korean government’s repression against the Migrants Trade Union (MTU) and its officers continues. The MTU has been at the forefront of many struggles in the last few years to defend the rights of migrant workers in South Korea for better pay, conditions and the right of residency. Most recently, the South Korean Immigration Service has denied former MTU president Michel Catuira re-entry into South Korea. In addition, the Supreme Court case in relation to MTU’s status has been pending for over 5 years and the South Korean government refuses to recognize MTU. For information and solidarity, click here.
