In a small but determined demonstration, around 30 labour activists held a rally outside the office of the Industrial Relations Minister, Mr. Bill Shorten, to stop the deportation of Jessie Cayanan. Jessie came to Australia to work on a short term work visa, but is now threatened with deportation as he was sacked from his job for standing up for his rights. Short term work visa are used all over the world to super exploit workers and are an attempt by capitalists and governments to divide our class on national and race grounds. The only response is to fight together. Unity is strength.
