This week in the city of Bhiwandi, Maharastra state, dubbed the ‘Manchester of India’ for its concentration of power loom factories, a garment factory collapsed after heavy rains. At least six workers have been killed and over 20 were injured. Workers need to form unions across the globe to take co-ordinated industrial action to counter this constant pressure on our wages and conditions.
