Telstra workers and members of the Communications, Electrical and Plumbing Union gave strong support to a mass meeting and protest rally outside Melbourne’s city-centre Telstra T-Life store on Wednesday 5th May 2010.
CEPU divisional president Len Cooper said more than 500 Telstra workers joined in the Melbourne strike while another 500 workers from country frontlines stopped working too.
The CEPU has been fighting since 2008 to secure a company-wide agreement for Telstra workers stuck on Howard-era Australian Workplace Agreements. Read a report here.
