Thailand turning a blind eye to modern slavery

Of the hundreds of thousands of Burmese migrants arriving in Thailand looking for work and a better life, not all of them are lucky enough to succeed. Too many are caught in the net of human traffickers and sold into slavery, ending up on fishing boats or on construction sites. There's no protection for them, least of all when they fall sick and need help the most. The Thai government stands accused of doing nothing about these allegations of human rights abuses.
