The fight for justice for the disappeared continues in Sri Lanka

27 October is marked in Sri Lanka as the day to remember and protest against the continual climate of fear in Sri Lanka and the forced disappearance of activists and progressive people. Hundreds of people have been ‘disappeared’ over the last decade, but this has not stopped activists calling for justice. This year was the 23rd year of commemoration with representatives from religious communities, human rights activists and trade unionists all participating. For pictures of the event, click here.
