With the Australian government recently re-instating offshore detention centres for asylum seekers who arrive by boat, activists around Australia have increased solidarity actions.
In Melbourne, on the Cup Day holiday of the 6th of November from 1pm, a BBQ, rally and festival will be held outside the Maribyrnong Detention Centre, 53 Hampstead Road Maidstone.
