AAWL recently received the following report from the Vietnam Association for the Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA):
On August 8-9, 2011, the 2nd International Conference of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin was held in Hanoi to create an opportunity for victims of this chemical to meet and share their experiences in overcoming sufferings. Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the first U.S spraying mission of Agent Orange (AO) in Vietnam (August 10, 1961), the conference included not only victims of AO but also victims of other chemical weapons as well as their supporters from 25 countries of the five continents.
The Conference heard 45 speeches and reports from participants and then was finalized with an APPEAL.
